Introduction / History

The Chik of India live in Bihar. They speak Urdu and can speak Hindi and read and write in Perso Arabic and Devanagari. They are not vegetarians and eat wheat and rice as cereals.

The Chik can have four wives at a time. They can remarry. There are birth and marriage rituals. They bury the dead. Slaughtering goats and sheep is their main work. They also do other work such as agriculture. Some of them own land.

The Chik believe in education. They use traditional and modern medicines but do not use family planning.
