Introduction / History

The Bindla are a scheduled caste. They live mostly in Andhra Pradesh.

They are not vegetarians and they eat beef and pork. Millet is their main cereal. They speak, read and write in Telugu. They are Hindus and traditionally priests too.

The Bindla are regarded locally as socially low caste. They are mostly landless. Women help with financial and religious matters. They work mostly in agriculture and some of them make shoes. Their children are becoming more educated but the literacy level is low so the gospel will need to be given in oral form as well as written.

A few of the Bindla live in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Prayer Points

* Pray that Indian Christians lead the Bindla to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that they realise God loves them regardless of their social status and that they give their lives to Him.
