Introduction / History

The Moklen are better known as Moken or Sea Gypsies. They live semi-nomadic seafaring lives in various parts of Thailand. They are most likely to be found by the Andaman coast in Thailand’s southern provinces of Phang Nga and Phuket. They also live in other parts of Southeast Asia.

What Are Their Lives Like?

The Moklen are best known for the fishing and diving skills. They move from place to place in small boats seeking food and salable items.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The Moklen have their own traditional religious beliefs. They are practical; they want the spirit world to help them with their physical needs.

What Are Their Needs?

The environmental habitat of the Moklen is in danger. They are also pressured to settle in one place by governments. Many have had to adapt to settling on land and taking on new lifestyles.

Prayer Points

Pray for many from this unreached people group to understand both God’s judgment and his majestic glory.

Pray for loving workers to go to the Moklen people, and for their hearts to be ready to receive their savior.

Pray for a chain reaction of families reaching families that result in thousands of new disciples who share their faith with others.

Pray for grace and truth expanding into their entire society as all believers learn to love others.
