Mennonites are named after Menno Simons, a Catholic priest who studied the Bible and saw error in the Catholic Church. He left it and decided to follow Jesus Christ and his teachings regardless of the cost. He and his followers were hunted for their faith. Many of his followers were burnt at the stake for their faith in Jesus Christ.
They live mainly in the USA and Canada but they do have missions around the world.
It is important for Mennonites to behave themselves as Jesus would and follow his commandments.
Mennonites believe the only way to peace with God is through Jesus. They try to follow the New Testament teachings in every aspect of their lives.
There is a powerful concern among most Mennonites that Evangelical Christians around them are influencing them in the ways of the world and away from Christ. While the majority are born again, there are some who are not.
Pray that they would stay faithful to God and his Word.
