Introduction / History

Many Indians live in New Zealand including Gujaratis. They live in Wellington, Hamilton and other places.

The first Gujarati immigrants trade, have shops and small businesses. The second lot of Gujarati immigrants work in engineering, medicine and property building.

Gujaratis and Punjabis are the main Indian groups in New Zealand. Gujaratis tend to keep to themselves. They have a charitable organization called the Gujarati Samaj that promotes Gujarati language, culture and traditions. Retaining their culture is very important to the Gujaratis.

The Gujaratis in New Zealand speak Gujarati and are Hindus.

Prayer Points

* Pray that New Zealand Christians will lead the Gujaratis to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that gospel materials and the internet will lead them to salvation.
