Introduction / History

The Gade people came through Ethiopia and reached their present day home.

Gade belongs to Gadoid/Babyoid according to G.T Obadiah, 2023. Gade was a coded military name of Gad. They are anciently called "Bàbyè" which means "humanity" or a "generic love within a group". They are nicknamed as Gadites, or simply the Bàbyè.

The type of government practices, practicing by the Gade is written/unwritten monarchy and there is no central authority. An indirect rule system was introduced in northern Nigeria by the British Government. In Gade tribes, the head of government is gómó assisted by Bátsákpá (council of elders/national economic councils) but there are ministries such as Güpádá (ministry of defense), Bàn?? Tìzè (Ministry of Land, Air, Agriculture and Development), just to mention but a few.

As written by GT Obadiah, The Gade Tonal Marks were released in 2023 following the guidelines of 2009/2012 by Lìbyè Language Development Team held at GSS Nasarawa, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. The Gade-English Dictionary and Gade Phonetics are scheduled to be released by 2024 respectively. All written and authored by GT Obadiah.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Gobo is the native religion practiced and practicing in all Gade subtribes. This goboism was in practiced before the colonization of Nigeria by the British government, this made goboism one of the oldest human religions in history. On October 9th 1952, Gùdígè Pùpá (in Nasarawa State, Nigeria) in Ancient City of Gudige Empire and Established ECWA making it the first Gade Land to accept Christianity. In late '70s, Islam was introduced in Gbada in Kuje Area Council, Abuja.
