We know very little about the daily lives of the Tai He of Laos, but we know God wants them as his children! Despite the fact that the Tai He view themselves as a distinct people group, they have never appeared in most mission or ethnolinguistic lists from Laos. Laurent Chazee, the French ethnographer, listed them as one of his 119 ethnic groups in Laos. Tai He live in Bolikhamsai province in central Laos. They are concentrated in the Viangthong and Khamkeut districts, while smaller numbers of Tai He inhabit the Pakkading and Pakxan districts. They only live in Laos.
They practice a mixture of Buddhism and animism. There are no churches or very few Christians among the Tai He. There are likely no Christian materials in their heart language, either. How will they hear?
"Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you." Jeremiah 29:12
Pray that this blessing will reach today’s people group soon.
Pray that the Lord would send laborers to reach the Tai He. Pray that the Tai He would receive materials that share the gospel in their heart language. Ask God to soften the hearts of the Tai He to his gospel.
