Behlim   BEH-lim

Some Behlim serve in the military forces of India. They are a sub-caste of the Rajputs, whose name means "son of a king." Embracing that identity, they are proud of their history of conquest, bravery, and military might. The Behlims consist of two distinct groups and languages: the Behlim of Gujarat (who speak Gujarati) and those in Uttar Pradesh who speak Urdu. Both groups of the Behlim farm. Some are landowners, and others are common farm workers on land owned by others. Since many Behlim live in rural villages, they need help in educating their children and accessing the benefits of modern medicine.

Ministry Obstacles

Like most Muslims, the Behlim Muslims are taught Islamic doctrines that conflict with the gospel. Additionally, they live in two of India's least-reached states. The only Christians they are likely to meet are from low-status groups, which gives the gospel less credibility.

Pray for the Lord to send people with “beautiful feet” to bring good news to today’s people group.

Prayer Focus

Pray that the Lord opens the spiritual eyes of the Behlim to see Jesus or Isa as the Son of God. Pray for workers needed to sow God's word into Behlim families, healing and strengthening households with God's blessings. Pray for Christ's servants to respond to the education and health needs of the Behlim. Pray that God will overthrow the spiritual forces of darkness opposing his gospel among the Behlims.
