Bokha

The Bokha are known for their skill in making rice and corn whiskey, which they drink in large amounts. Hospitality is central to their culture. When a guest enters a Bokha home, they are immediately offered a bowl of strong whiskey. The host presents it with both hands as a sign of respect. Refusing to drink is considered deeply offensive, and without a good reason, the visitor may not be welcome to stay. Alongside this tradition, the Bokha hold many superstitions connected to food and eating, which shape daily life and community customs.

Ministry Obstacles

There are only a few believers among the Bokha, and most have yet to hear the message of Christ. With little or no Christian presence within their community, the gospel must come from the outside. Their traditions and social expectations may make it difficult for outsiders to gain trust and share the good news.

Prayer Focus

Pray for workers who are filled with the love of Christ to go to the Bokha with humility and boldness. Ask God to prepare hearts to receive the gospel and to break through spiritual barriers that keep them in darkness. Pray for miracles, healings, and signs that point people to Jesus. Pray for the rise of new disciples and house churches that multiply quickly, bringing hope and transformation to Bokha families and villages.
