Southern Baloch in United Arab Emirates

The name, “Baloch,” is shrouded in controversy. Some say it means “nomad,” while others claim it is an old Persian word meaning “the cock's crest.” Their history is just as mysterious. During the Moghul period, this territory became known as “Balochistan.” It is difficult to make a living in that region, so there is a large Baloch diaspora in which many have migrated to the United Arab Emirates for better job opportunities.

Ministry Obstacles

The Southern Baloch in the UAE probably don’t have a single Christ follower to challenge Islamic theology.

Scripture Focus

"The princes of the peoples gather as the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; he is highly exalted!"  Psalm 47:9

Scripture Prayer

Pray that the Lord will find honor and worship from today’s people group. May they understand that they belong to Him.

Prayer Focus

Pray for a movement of Jesus to heal and strengthen Baloch communities in the UAE. Pray for the Baloch to understand and embrace that Jesus wants to bless their families and neighborhoods. Pray for Holy Spirit-anointed believers from the Baloch to change their society from within. Pray for a movement in which the Holy Spirit leads and empowers disciples to make more disciples. Pray for a “Book of Acts” type of movement to Christ among the Baloch. Even without Christians in their midst, the Southern Baloch in the UAE can download many Christian materials from their homes. Pray that they will download them and embrace the gospel.
