Turk in Argentina

Turk in Argentina

The Turks originated in Turan, a region that lies between the Caspian Sea and the Mongolian Desert. They arrived in Anatolia, Turkey (Asia Minor) in the 11th century as conquering warriors. By the year 1299, the Turkish-dominated Ottoman Dynasty began ruling over what would become a vast empire, greater in area than the Roman Empire. It was the last Caliphate, an Islamic political state. Today Muslim militants lament its downfall. Over 20 nation states that you can name in today's world were once under Ottoman rule. During the time of the Ottoman Empire, a small number of Middle Easterners migrated to Argentina including a few Turks. Most of the Turks in Argentina live in the capital city of Buenos Aires.

Ministry Obstacles

Sunni Muslims are taught at an early age that Christian doctrine is ridiculous and that the content of the Bible is unreliable.

Outreach Ideas

Any Christian believer who wants to reach the Turks will need to start by making a solid friendship with them. The Christ follower will have to prove to be a loyal and trustworthy friend.

Scripture Focus

"To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me."  Psalm 25:1-2

Scripture Prayer

Pray for many from today’s people group to give their entire lives to God.

Prayer Focus

There are no known Christian believers amongst these Turks, so pray for an openness to the gospel. Pray for rapid growth of followers of Jesus among the Turks in Argentina that would spread to Turkey.
