Ansari

Ansaris are noted for their friendliness and their helpfulness. They are predominantly artisans by trade and are mostly poor and cannot read. Silk weaving is a common trade skill among these people. Although traditionally weavers and textile sellers, the Ansaris are now involved in a wide range of small business enterprises. Their friendliness could open doors for believers to develop closeness and opportunities to share the gospel.

Ministry Obstacles

It is almost impossible for believers to stay long enough to help people find their way to the cross and be discipled in the ways of Jesus Christ. As Sunni Muslims, they must refrain from many things, and they depend on the spirit world for daily needs using charms and amulets. They believe Allah has pre-determined their fates, so free will is minimized in their thinking.

Ask God to give the Ansaris a sincere desire and hunger for righteousness and holiness so that they may learn the way to Christ. Ask God to make a way for workers to be sent to and remain among the Ansari. Ask the Lord to bless the Ansaris in such a way that they will know He is the one to follow.
