Jat Varaich (Muslim traditions) in Pakistan
jaht wah-RAICH
Historically Varaich Jats have been landowners and tenant farmers, but they also have a reputation as fearless warriors. Many from this clan serve in both India's and Pakistan's military forces. Some of Pakistan's prominent military officers come from this clan. Today Varaich Jats typically are farmers. Some have joined armies and adopted various professions to earn their living. Surprisingly, both Sikh and Muslim Varaichs follow Hindu wedding traditions.
Ministry Obstacles Islam stands unchallenged among the Varaich Jat community in Pakistan. If someone considered embracing Christ as Lord, they would face serious persecution.
Scripture Focus "Jesus answered him, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3
Scripture Prayer Pray that many in this people group are born again and enter into the Kingdom of God.
Prayer Focus There may be no known followers of Christ among this Jat community. Pray for God to send his love for the Varaich Jats through his word, his servants and his Holy Spirit.
Ask for the Lord to prepare the hearts of the Varaich Jats to be receptive and ready to surrender to Christ.
