Pingdi in China

The Pingdi peoples are part of the greater Yao cluster of people groups. The majority are farmers engaged in rice cultivation.

Ministry Obstacles
The Pingdi area is rarely visited by outsiders. As a result, they have minimal interaction with other people groups who might share the gospel.

Outreach Ideas
In the ancient past the Yao had a legend of a Creator god. The Yao claim, "Ages ago ... before we crossed the sea, we worshipped someone called Tin Zay, who lives in heaven and is a holy god." Those who try to share the gospel with the Yao people group could start with their own beliefs.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pingdi believers are often viewed as strange by their families, friends, and neighbors. Pray they will overcome social obstacles by being supernaturally transformed into loving disciples. Pray for Holy Spirit anointed believers from the Pingdi people to change their society from within.

Pray for the entire people group
* Pray that believers from other parts of China will bring them the Good News, and that they will respond by producing their own Bible, JESUS Film, and radio broadcasts. * Pray for a "Book of Acts" type of movement to Christ among the Pingdi people.

Scripture Focus
"It will yet be that peoples will come, even the inhabitants of many cities. And the inhabitants of one will go to another saying, Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts; I will also go." Zechariah 8:20-21
