Brahmin in Bangladesh

Brahmins perform Hindu rituals but only a subset of Brahmins are involved in priestly duties including teaching and preaching. In modern times they have excelled as educators, law makers, scholars, doctors, warriors, writers, poets, land owners, computer engineers, and politicians. Brahmins in Bangladesh must navigate being Hindu leaders in a Muslim country.

Ministry Obstacles
Brahmins are taught at an early age that they are at the top of the Hindu social order. This can easily produce spiritual pride, which is anathema in God's sight. Hindus believe that they have everything to lose by "changing religion," so believers must make it clear that they are actually asking Brahmins to give their devotion to Jesus Christ rather than to a different religious system.

Outreach Ideas
It will take believers from a privileged community to reach these people who have no social contact with less-prestigious communities.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There are no known followers of Christ among the Brahmins in Bangladesh, so pray that the Holy Spirit will begin to draw them to the person, Jesus Christ.

Pray for the entire people group
Well-meaning believers have often tried to win a couple of Brahmins to Christ where they attend worship services with people from other communities. To Brahmin family leaders, this appears to be a rejection of their community. Therefore, pray for the Holy Spirit to penetrate the hearts and minds of Brahmin family leaders in Bangladesh.
