German Jewish in Germany
JUR-mun joo

The German Jews were driven out or exterminated in the 1930s and 1940s, but today they are returning to Germany to participate in the vibrant economy. Most of these Jewish people live in urban areas. Jewish parents strongly encourage their children to pursue graduate educations. Jews often find their employment in medicine, law, higher education, science and finance. Jewish scientists win the Nobel Prize many times above their percentage of the general population.

Ministry Obstacles
For centuries, Christianity has been associated with persecution of their people. This is a huge barrier for Jewish people who might otherwise consider the claims of their Messiah.

Outreach Ideas
Jewish people often have a deep appreciation for the arts and music. Christ followers can join them in cultural events, showing them the way to their heavenly Father.

Scripture Focus
"Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!"  Psalm 139:23-24

Scripture Prayer
Pray that many from this people group will have the kind of intimacy with the Lord that it takes to purge their lives of anything that offends Him.

Prayer Focus
The few Messianic Jewish believers can be a cultural and spiritual bridge for this community. Those who love Jesus can be true friends and advocates for Jewish causes. Pray for the Lord to thrust out people who love Jesus and the Jewish people in Germany. Pray for an abundance of the fruit of the Holy Spirit as they will sometimes face hostility and resistance. Pray for spiritual hunger and discernment among German Jews. Pray for them to have a desire to seek and find the Messiah.
