Koli Mahadev in India

Most Koli communities are fishermen, but the Mahedevs are farmers. They live in many parts of India, but they are concentrated in the western state of Maharashtra, and in the city of Pune. They have 24 clans, each with their separate surname, and Hindu god.

Ministry Obstacles
William Carey, the great missionary, pointed out that the vast majority of the people in the world are, in his words, "no choice" people, meaning that they don't have the chance to choose to follow Jesus. The Koli Mahedev people are among them.

Outreach Ideas
YWAM has a base in Pune. Perhaps they can reach out to these Hindus.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray that the small number of believers among the Koli Mahedev people will understand that they have the only spiritual hope, and that their community needs to hear about Jesus so they have the chance to respond.

Pray for the entire people group
* Pray for a spiritual hunger that will drive the Koli Mahedev people to the loving arms of Jesus. * Pray for workers who are filled with the fruit and the power of the Holy Spirit to go to the Koli Mahedev people to share God's blessings. * Pray for a chain reaction of families reaching families that results in thousands of new believers who share their faith with others.

Scripture Focus
"Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You." Psalm 67:3
