Gujarati in United Kingdom

Gujaratis began to arrive in the UK in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Most of them worked in factories 50 years ago; but the Gujaratis over a period of time have become an upwardly mobile community. Most Gujaratis are Hindus, but there are some who are Muslim, including some who now live in the UK. Today the Gujaratis in the UK do not lack financial resources, but they lack the spiritual resources that only Jesus Christ can offer.

Ministry Obstacles
Fear that Christianity undermines their identity and traditions is a key way Satan uses to hinder Gujarati communities from accepting Christ's blessings.

Outreach Ideas
Pray for believers to build bridges of friendship and trust with Gujarati family leaders.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray that Gujarati people who know Christ will become wise in sowing the Word of God among their families and friends.

Pray for the entire people group
* Pray for a spiritual hunger on the part of Gujaratis in the UK that will draw them to the Savior. * Pray for Gujarati families in the UK to be drawn by the Holy Spirit to seek forgiveness, and to understand the adequacy of Christ's work on the cross. * Pray for a movement of Gujarati households to study the Bible and accept the blessings of Christ.

Scripture Focus
"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest." Matthew 9:37-38
