Kunbi Kadwa in India

The Kunbi (alternate names of Reddi and Desai) are a prominent community of Gujarat. Traditionally the Reddi (also, Reddy) belong to the fourth of the Hindu Varnas, Shudra. One section of the Reddi is called Kapu which means guardian. The traditional occupation of most of the Reddi groups is settled farming, followed by animal husbandry and paid labor.

Ministry Obstacles
The Kunbi peoples have always put their faith in spirit beings that are opposed to the God of Life. They also live in a part of India where the gospel witness is rare.

Outreach Ideas
Believers with the right skills can help this farming community to get a better yield of their crops. That should gain them a hearing.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray that believers will allow the Holy Spirit to transform them in such a way that many others will be attracted to them. Pray that the few Kunbi believers will be salt and light to these people.

Pray for the entire people group
* Pray for a spiritual hunger to come to the Kunbi Kadwas and other communities in Gujarat, so that they will seek and find the Holy One. * Pray for believers to go to the Kunbi Kadwa people and pray for both their physical and spiritual needs. * Pray that answers to prayer will give these farmers a desire to know the Lord who blesses.

Scripture Focus
"And Jesus, looking around, said to His disciples, 'How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!'" Mark 10:23
