Lohar (Muslim traditions) in India

Lohar nomads often felt isolated, alone and like outsiders as they travel from village to village offering their blacksmith skills to farmers who need iron farming implements. Most of the Lohars are blacksmiths and have been practicing their trade for centuries. The Muslim Lohars face potential persecution because they are a religious minority group.

Ministry Obstacles
It would be very difficult for believers to have contact with nomads like the Muslim Lohars. Islam also provides a barrier to the gospel, since it is a religious system as opposed to a way of relating to God as a humble child.

Outreach Ideas
Like all people groups, there are Lohar people with leadership skills who can direct their people to the Savior, if only they would hear of Him and respond to His offer of salvation and love.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There are no known Lohar Muslims who follow Christ, so pray that their leaders will hear His great name, and allow Him to be the center of their lives.

Pray for the entire people group
* Pray that God will lead His envoys to those whose hearts have been prepared to receive His Word. * Pray that the Lord will make Himself known to the Muslim Lohar people, and that they will be open when they hear the truth about Jesus being lord and savior. * Pray that the Lohar people, be they Muslim or Hindu, will be ready to repent before a holy God, and disciple others to do the same.

Scripture Focus
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20
