Ndzwani Comorian in Madagascar
n-DZWAH-nee

Many of the Comorians (people from the Comoros Islands) now residing in Madagascar initially came seeking better socio-economic conditions, while others fled their country during periods of political strife. Many university students from the Comoros Islands study in Madagascar. Some have Arab ancestry while others are a mixture of African people groups. Comorian life in Madagascar centers around commerce, with most families involved in some form of trading. Most Comorians follow Islam, with a strong emphasis on folk and animistic elements such as charms, magic and trances.

Ministry Obstacles
Spiritual opposition is common when presenting Jesus. Workers should be prepared for this, but not intimidated.

Outreach Ideas
Though evangelism is prohibited in Comoros, Madagascar provides an environment where the gospel can reach this unreached people group. Christian believers in Madagascar can seize this opportunity.

Scripture Focus
"And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions."  Joel 2:28

Scripture Prayer
Pray that this people group receives the gift of the Holy Spirit as they turn to the Lord.

Prayer Focus
There are no known followers of Jesus among the Comorians of Madagascar at this time. However, pray that those who will soon come to faith in Christ will have mature Christ followers to help them become established in the faith, so they can live out their faith and share it with others. Pray Comorians would be drawn to Jesus, the prophet who is much more than a prophet. Pray for a movement to Christ to stir among the Comorians in Madagascar.
