Mali (Hindu traditions) in India
MAH-lee

The Mali are industrious workers and are known for their bravery in the armed forces. There are different Mali subgroups according to their occupation. For example, Mali farmers are known as Baghban, those who cut and sell grass are called Sasia Mali and those growing flowers are Phool Mali. Many Malis live in towns and keep vegetable or flower gardens. The Mali are also known for the preparation of maur or marriage crowns for the bride and the bridegroom at weddings.

Ministry Obstacles
The Mali peoples live in most parts of India, but few are in the states where the church is strongest.

Outreach Ideas
Believers can have public showings of the JESUS Film in Mali communities to introduce them to him.

Scripture Focus
"And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here I am! Send me."  Isaiah 6:8

Scripture Prayer
Pray that God will send His messengers to this people group soon!

Prayer Focus
Pray that believers would seek to be a blessing to Mali family leaders, who can open the door for the entire people group to follow Jesus. Pray that great signs and wonders would be performed among the Mali to lead many to understand the goodness of the Lord. Pray for groups of believers to regularly intercede for the Mali until they have a thriving church. Pray for networks of believing families and fellowships that will throw the doors open for others to follow Jesus.
