Rawat Yadav in India

The Yadav peoples, including the Rawats, claim that they are descended from the Hindu god Krishna. This and the fact that they deal with cattle and dairy products give them good status in the land where cows are considered holy. They also do farm work, growing wheat and other crops. Many of the Rawat Yadavs are well educated professionals who are a dominant people in their area, especially Bihar.

Ministry Obstacles
The Rawat Yadavs live in parts of India where the church is weak. This Yadav subgroup is concentrated in Bihar, though not limited to this state. Bihar has been called the "graveyard of mission" with good reason.

Outreach Ideas
Believers from other farming communities can reach out to the Rawat Yadavs with oral stories of Jesus combined with copies of the JESUS Film and gospel recordings. Those who are genuinely interested in Christ can be discipled and taught to disciple others.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray that soon the Holy Spirit will move among Rawat Yadav clan leaders and draw them into a relationship with Him.

Pray for the entire people group
* Pray for families of believers loving and serving others to grow reproducing churches. * Pray for a chain reaction of families reaching families that results in thousands of new believers who share their faith with others. * Pray for grace and truth expanding into the entire Rawat Yadav society as all believers learn to love others.

Scripture Focus
