Sunri (Hindu traditions) in Bangladesh

Most Sunris in Bangladesh earn their living through farming, trade, fishing, and being household service workers. They have made good progress in the field of education.

Ministry Obstacles
The Hindu Sunri community is rejected by the Muslim majority in Bangladesh, and they are probably very averse to inviting more rejection that would come from embracing Christ in their Hindu community.

Outreach Ideas
The Sunris have low status among Hindus. It is possible that the best people to go to them would be people from similar Hindu communities in nearby northeastern India. Pray for this to happen soon.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray that the few followers of Christ in the Sunri community of Bangladesh will shine the light of Jesus in a land where spiritual darkness reigns.

Pray for the entire people group
* Pray for leaders of Sunri families and clans to accept the blessings and responsibility of following Christ, and to encourage others to do the same. * Pray that they will be willing to be discipled in His ways so that their entire community is transformed into the likeness of Christ.

Scripture Focus
I know the greatness of the Lord—that our Lord is greater than any other god. Ps 135:5
