Baghban (Hindu traditions) in India

Baghban means, "one who looks after the garden." Baghban Hindu people are only found in India. They live mainly in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. In Uttar Pradesh Bagban people speak Urdu and Hindi, but they have their own language which they use with one another. They are 100 percent Hindu and worship many gods. Bible resources exist in Urdu and Hindi, yet Baghban Hindus remain unreached.

Ministry Obstacles
Maharashtra enforces an anti-conversion law. This is a serious threat to Christians, and those who would be Christians.

Outreach Ideas
Family, community, and inter-tribal involvement may be an opportunity for those who know the truth of the gospel to earn eventual acceptance and privilege to speak.

Pray for the followers of Christ
No known followers of Christ exist among the Baghban Hindu people of India, but pray for those who will soon become believers.

Pray for the entire people group
* Pray that Almighty God will cause the revelation of His love and His Word to run swiftly across India until He is honored and worshiped by Baghban Hindu people. * Pray that God will exalt His Word among them through orality movements in the near future. * Pray for Hindu Baghban families to be blessed by their relationship with the Lord, and that they will diligently study and heed His word.

Scripture Focus
