Koshti in India

The Koshti people weave fine silk and cotton cloth goods worn by the wealthy. According to their legends, they are descendants of a famous Hindu saint named Markandi Rishi. To make a long story short, they were blessed by the gods. No doubt this prosperous community still considers themselves blessed by the gods.

Ministry Obstacles
The Koshti people have a strong devotion to Ganesh and other Hindu gods. There are spirit beings behind these gods that will keep the Koshti people away from the Savior.

Outreach Ideas
Believers who purchase weaved goods can have regular contact with members of the Koshti community and become friends with them. Eventually they can earn the right to speak into their lives.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the few Koshti believers to have strength and faith.

Pray for the entire people group
* Pray for church-planting teams to work among them as there are no known mission agencies/churches working among them. * Pray for the setting up of income-generating projects. * Pray a good response to the Christian radio program and the JESUS Film.

Scripture Focus
"And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." Genesis 12:3
