Sutradhar (Hindu traditions) in Bangladesh
SOO-trahd-har

Sutradhar means "thread holder"; they are known for crafting beautiful wood doors, windows, boats, etc. Because of their artisanal skill, some of them work for entrepreneurs in cities. Those who are successful can get paid well, but the majority of Sutradhar are novices and struggle financially.

Ministry Obstacles
The Bangladeshis take Sutradhar territory without consent from the government. This forces the Sutradhar people to focus on defending themselves rather than higher matters.

Outreach Ideas
Believers from outside Bangladesh can purchase their goods and sell them on the international market. This would give believers regular contact with this unreached people group and provide them with a better income.

Scripture Focus
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him."  James 1:5

Scripture Prayer
Pray for this people group to begin to seek the wisdom of God that is found in His word.

Prayer Focus
Very few of the Sutradhar community are followers of Jesus. Pray for the many who will someday come to saving faith. Pray for the Lord to thrust out loving believers to the Sutradhar leading to an unstoppable movement to Christ. Pray that these Hindus would be exposed to the good news of Jesus and repent of their sin and follow the Messiah as their new master.
