Devendrakulathan in India
deh-ven-dra-KOO-lah-tahn

Most people in this community are involved in agriculture. Those who live in villages have their self-government. They have special priests for temples, barbers, clothes washers and medical workers in villages. These people also have their own temples that are called King Temples. They are also the priests in village temples and shrines, exclusively owned by these people.

Ministry Obstacles
During the height of their culture, this people group built and owned many prominent temples. They take great pride in their past. This pride ties them to the Hindu religious system.

Scripture Focus
"Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."  Hebrews 4:16

Scripture Prayer
Pray for this people group to approach God’s throne of grace and receive the mercy and grace found in Jesus Christ.

Prayer Focus
Pray for a spiritual hunger that will drive the Devendrakulathan to seek and find Jesus Christ. Pray for a movement to Christ to flourish among the Devendrakulathan. The Devendrakulathan speak Tamil as do thousands of vibrant Christians who can reach them. Pray for Tamil-speaking workers.
