Tai Lue in Laos
tie LOO

Laos is a small, land-locked nation in Southeast Asia. The Tai Lue people of Laos live in the northern part of the country near the Chinese border. The Tai Lue dwell in villages near rivers. Most Tai Lue make their living growing and selling wet rice and other crops. Other Tai Lue fish and make jewelry from silver. Their women are expert weavers and embroiderers.

Ministry Obstacles
The region where the Tai Lue live in Laos is isolated. Foreign missionaries are not allowed to enter the area.

Outreach Ideas
The JESUS Film and God's Story video are both available in the Lu language. The Tai Lue are primarily an oral culture, so these would be good resources for them.

Scripture Focus
"Let your ear be attentive and your eyes open, to hear the prayer of your servant that I now pray before you day and night for the people of Israel your servants, confessing the sins of the people of Israel, which we have sinned against you. Even I and my father’s house have sinned."  Nehemiah 1:6

Scripture Prayer
Pray for the Lord to raise up believers from among today’s people group that will faithfully and fervently pray for their people.

Prayer Focus
Pray that the tiny numbers of believers among the Tai Lue would be strengthened in the faith and share the good news with their families and neighbors. Ask the Holy Spirit to soften the hearts of the Tai Lue so that they will be receptive to the gospel. Pray that the gospel would spread rapidly throughout the Tai Lue people and that Christ would be glorified.
