Dutch Jewish in Netherlands
dutch joo

Because of the uniqueness of their history and culture, all Jews have a strong sense of identity. Persecution of and discrimination against the Jews have been the historical reasons for their migrations and settlements around the world. Yet they are relatively safe in most European countries like the Netherlands. For religious Jews, God is the Supreme Being, the Creator of the universe and the ultimate Judge of human affairs. Beyond this, the religious beliefs of the Jewish communities vary greatly.

Ministry Obstacles
The Jews have a wonderful understanding of their connection with the Abrahamic Covenant. However, they also have a history of rejecting Jesus Christ as Messiah, the one who has fulfilled that covenant. In European countries like the Netherlands, they often associate Christianity with persecution.

Outreach Ideas
Outreach in Jewish communities that shows empathy for their struggles instead of downplaying them as well as connecting the teachings of the New Testament to the Abrahamic Covenant might open their eyes to see Jesus.

Scripture Focus
"And he did not permit him but said to him, Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you."  Mark 5:19

Scripture Prayer
Pray for those who have been blessed among today’s people group to boldly and lovingly tell others of God’s abundant mercy.

Prayer Focus
Ask the Lord to send forth loving Christians to work among the Jewish communities. Pray for a movement to Christ among the Netherland's Jewish community.
