Rajput (Muslim traditions) in Pakistan

The name Rajput is derived from the Sanskrit word rajputra, meaning son of a ruler. The Rajputra constitute a class of nobility. The Rajput rose to political importance in the ninth and tenth centuries. In India, the Rajput have been a ruling class owning vast tracts of land.

Ministry Obstacles
Much ministry to the Rajput has focused on winning individuals away from their families and gathering them into new churches. This has fueled fear of Christianity as an invading threat to their families and communities.

Outreach Ideas
Sustained, focused prayer is needed to open the hearts of Rajput families to experiencing God's blessing through a movement of family-based discovery Bible studies.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for new followers of Christ among the Rajput to be effective in blessing their families through sharing and discussing the Word of God, that a movement to Jesus may spread rapidly among Rajput families and communities.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for Rajput families to be drawn to Jesus (whom Muslims call Isa al-Masih), and to the Bible to find out more about this man. Pray that the Lord will start a movement of Rajput families experiencing God's blessing.

Scripture Focus
"You purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation." Revelation 5:9
