Pegagan in Indonesia
peh-GAH-gahn

The Pegagan, like other inhabitants of Indonesia’s South Sumatra, are found to be generally friendly, and adapt well to living with neighbors. Rice farming is the mainstay of their livelihood. Additionally, they fish in rivers, raise small livestock and sell embroidered cloth. All of them are Muslim; many of their mosques are large. They are very active in religious devotion, though traditional customs are intertwined with Islam.

Ministry Obstacles
There is presently a lack of Spirit-led believers willing to bring the gospel to this people group.

Scripture Focus
"But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."  Isaiah 40:31

Scripture Prayer
Make this your prayer for today’s people group.

Prayer Focus
Pray for the Holy Spirit to move in the hearts of the Pegagan so that their youth will be receptive to discipleship from equipped Indonesian believers sent by the Lord. Pray that the Pegagan will then take the good news home to their families and villages and lives victorious in Christ will flourish.
