Saini (Sikh traditions) in India
say-NEE
The Sikh Sainis are farmers who usually own their own land and are somewhere in the middle in terms of caste status. They are hard-working and skilled at their work. They are also known as Mallies in other parts of India.
Ministry Obstacles The Saini people have been dependent on the teachings of Guru Nanak and other Sikh prophets for centuries. Few of them have had the chance to hear what Jesus taught.
Outreach Ideas There have been many Sikhs who have found Jesus as Savior. Perhaps some of them will be willing to go to the Saini community.
Scripture Focus "The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man." Ecclesiastes 12:13
Scripture Prayer Pray that many from this people group will understand that God is the one who gives our lives meaning and purpose.
Prayer Focus Pray that the few Saini believers would joyfully and lovingly share the teachings of Jesus with their people. Pray that the Lord would give them the gifts of healing and intercession, so they can be used by God to demonstrate the power and love of our Lord. Pray that churches and believers would bless their entire people group in such a way that God's love will change the Saini people like yeast changes dough. Pray for networks of believing families and fellowships that will throw the doors open for others to follow Jesus.
