Kir (Hindu traditions) in India

Kir or Keer are a scheduled tribe. Being a tribal people, they have a low status in Hindu society. Among them are several clans, each with its own clan surname. Kir grow fruit and vegetables. They have a council to look after their needs. They make use of government benefits. Hinduism is their religion. They need to accept the blessings of Jesus Christ, the one who came to offer "life to the full." Their literacy level is low, so the gospel will need to be presented in oral form. Gospel materials are abundant in Hindi, a language spoken by most Kirs.

Ministry Obstacles
Hinduism is a flexible religion where few will exclusively devote themselves to one deity. Many will accept Jesus but expect to indulge in the worship of other deities as well.

Scripture Focus
"The LORD is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works."  Psalm 145:17

Scripture Prayer
Pray that many will soon thank the Lord for His righteousness and kindness.

Prayer Focus
Pray for many from the Kir community to devote themselves to Christ alone. Pray that the council leaders will come to Jesus Christ and help their community start a movement to Christ. Pray that gospel recordings and the JESUS Film will lead many to Christ.
