Kir (Hindu traditions) in India
Kir or Keer are a scheduled tribe. Being a tribal people, they have a low status in Hindu society. Among them are several clans, each with its own clan surname. Kir grow fruit and vegetables. They have a council to look after their needs. They make use of government benefits. Hinduism is their religion. They need to accept the blessings of Jesus Christ, the one who came to offer "life to the full." Their literacy level is low, so the gospel will need to be presented in oral form. Gospel materials are abundant in Hindi, a language spoken by most Kirs.
Ministry Obstacles Hinduism is a flexible religion where few will exclusively devote themselves to one deity. Many will accept Jesus but expect to indulge in the worship of other deities as well.
