Garre Oromo in Kenya

The Garre are one of the Somali tribes. They were converted to Islam in the 1400s. Today, the Garre are virtually all Muslims, and they are very orthodox in their religious practices. The members of a Garre clan are very loyal to each other, be they in Somalia or further south in Kenya. The smallest unit of their society is the family.

Ministry Obstacles
Fear that Christianity undermines their identity, communities and traditions is one way Satan uses to hinder Garre communities from accepting Christ's blessings.

Outreach Ideas
Pray for Kenyan believers to build bridges of friendship and trust with Garre family leaders.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray that Garre people who know Christ will become wise in sowing the Word of God among their families and friends.

Pray for the entire people group
* Pray for a movement of Jesus to heal and strengthen Garre communities in Kenya. * Pray for the Garre Somali people to understand and embrace that Jesus wants to bless their families and neighborhoods. * Pray for teams of believers to do sustained, focused prayer for the Lord to open the hearts of Garre family leaders to experience God's blessing through a movement of family-based discovery Bible studies.

Scripture Focus
