Tungur in Sudan
TOON-jur

The ethnic background of the Tungur is unknown, though some scholars believe they have roots among the Arab peoples of North Africa. Hundreds of years ago they were merged with one of the Fur tribes, but before that happened, the last Tungur leader was driven out because he compelled his subjects to dig wells and level a mountain peak.

Ministry Obstacles
There are no believers among the Tungur to demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit working in their lives. They live in a land where Sunni Islam remains unchallenged.

Scripture Focus
"For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself."  Hebrews 3:3

Scripture Prayer
Pray for God to grant this people group the wisdom to know that Jesus’ glory far exceeds the glory of any human prophet.

Prayer Focus
Pray that this will be the year God will send believers to the Tungur. Pray for the first believers among the Tungur of Sudan. Ask that for the Holy Spirit will woo them to the side of the true God. Pray the Tungur will be discipled in the ways of Jesus Christ, the only Savior.
