Adiyan in India

Are Adiyans an ignored people? They were originally semi-nomadic hunter-gatherers but now live in villages and towns in the hills of Tamil Nadu state, India. A Malayalam-speaking people, they are a scheduled tribe, eligible for government affirmative action help. They have their own distinct culture, rituals, and dances. They are polytheistic Hindus, but not philosophical like high-status Hindus. They are poor because of discrimination. Discrimination is likely the biggest obstacle they face. Few have adequate education. Christian job assistance may open a door for the gospel. Christian teachers who are winsome evangelists are needed. Power encounters may work because the Adiyan understand the dangers of unclean spirits.

Ministry Obstacles
The church in India overlooks them. It's possible the contempt other communities have for the Adiyans is also true of the Indian church. They are being overlooked.
