Kabardian in Türkiye (Turkey)
kuh-BAR-dee-un

The Kabardian came dangerously close to ethnic extermination as victims of the century-long Russo-Circassian wars that ended in 1864. Considering the tragic expulsion, emigration or destruction of 90 percent of their population from their Russian homeland, their national survival into modern times is almost unbelievable. This is thanks to Turkish hospitality. The Karbadians are strong in hospitality, saying, “A guest is a messenger from God.” or “The guest of a Kabardian is as safe as if protected by a fortress.”

Ministry Obstacles
Once characterized by folk Islam, Kabardians are now increasingly plagued by an encroaching attraction to radicalism among many youth. Attacks and counterattacks between rebels and military/police both claim innocent lives exacerbate instability and deepen bitterness and mistrust in the region.

Scripture Focus
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."  Matthew 5:3

Scripture Prayer
Pray that this people group to recognize their own spiritual bankruptcy and come to Christ for the riches of His forgiveness.

Prayer Focus
Pray that young Kabardians will catch the vision of Almighty God who loves them infinitely, and will become a new generation of fruitful, multiplying witnesses within their people group, thrusting down spiritual roots. Pray for many house churches among these hospitable people. Pray they will ask Jesus to be a guest in their lives. Pray for Jesus visions and dreams among this people group.
