Natioro in Burkina Faso

Poor roads and a rolling landscape have prevented much outside contact in Burkina Faso. Natioro have strong traditions; however, they are friendly to outsiders and eager to improve their lives. Most families survive through subsistence farming, although some men are herdsmen or merchants. Carpenters are rare, but they are well known for the wooden beds they produce. Natioros trade among themselves and with neighboring people at a weekly market. Young people lack adequate education. Instead of studying, they spend much of their time helping in the fields or doing housework. Many are willing to learn to read, but there have been no successful literacy programs. As they mature, finding a job becomes difficult.

Ministry Obstacles
As far as we know, there are no Christ followers among the Natioro in Burkina Faso. They will have to hear the gospel from someone outside their community.

Scripture Focus
"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD."  Jeremiah 17:7

Scripture Prayer
Pray that today’s people group will put all their trust and confidence in the Lord only.

Prayer Focus
Pray for Christ followers to establish schools for Natioro children, opening the door for a gospel witness. Pray for a spiritual hunger that will take them beyond the ways of their ancestors into the loving arms of Jesus Christ. Pray for an unstoppable movement to Christ among the Natioro. Pray for the Lord to bless the Natioro with an abundant harvest this year as a testimony of his power and love.
