Shaikh is a major Muslim community across South Asia, especially in Bangladesh. Their name once signified teachers and leaders, and today it remains a respected title. They trace their heritage to Arab traders, Persian scholars, and Turkish conquerors who settled in the region long ago. With such a rich and diverse background, the Shaikhs carry a strong sense of identity and pride.

Ministry Obstacles
Shaikh communities see Christianity as a threat to family and social unity. Conversion to Christ is often viewed as betrayal, tearing at the very fabric of family loyalty. This makes the gospel appear unwelcome and disruptive.

Pray for Shaikh households to hear God's word and respond with open hearts. Ask for protection and strength for new believers. Pray for many laborers to plant the seeds of faith so that households and extended families experience the blessing of the gospel.
