Toli-Toli in Indonesia

Toli-Toli villages are small and comprise houses on stilts. Toli-Toli living on the coast are often fishermen, while those in the hills typically cultivate rice in unirrigated fields, as well as corn and sago. The Toli-Toli process high-quality spices such as cloves, as well as copra and cocoa. Because of the many coastal areas, the Toli-Toli area is rich in marine products such as fish, seaweed, etc. Currently, the government is in the process of doing international trade with East Kalimantan province, Malaysia, and the Philippines, known as Totata (Toli-Toli - Tarakan - Tawau) and Tosamin (Toli Toli - Sabah - Mindanao). These are expected to bring many work and business opportunities.

Ministry Obstacles
With almost no Christ followers among them, it is difficult for the gospel to make inroads into their community. All agree to the beliefs of Islam. There is no challenge to existing beliefs.

Scripture Focus
"Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am."  John 8:58

Scripture Prayer
Pray for this people group to understand that Jesus is not just another human prophet but is the eternal God.

Prayer Focus
Pray for Christ followers in other parts of Sulawesi to be bearers of the gospel to the Toli Toli community. Pray for a spiritual hunger that will open their hearts to the King of kings. Pray for the Lord to send out loving workers to the Toli Toli. Pray for Toli Toli disciples who will not rest until they make more disciples.
