Hmong Dlex Nchab in China
mung dley ncha
Historically, the Chinese have viewed the Hmong with contempt, believing them to be "uncivilized barbarians." Visitors to the minority peoples of China, however, have generally found them to be an extremely warm and hospitable people. Father De Mailla's comments on the tribes of Taiwan in the early 1700s still stand true for many of the minorities in China today. De Mailla wrote, "Savages though they may be according to the maxims of the Chinese world, I believe them to be nearer to the true philosophy than a great number of the most celebrated Chinese sages."
Ministry Obstacles Generations of Hmong Dlex Nchab have perished without receiving news of the sacrifice of Christ for their sins. Chinese authorities tightly control the Jinping area. In 1994, in response to thousands of Hmong Daw coming to Christ through radio broadcasts, the local police arrested 18 church leaders, beat local Christians, and destroyed numerous Bibles and much Christian literature. Jinping County is tightly controlled; past Christian activity (such as among the Hmong Daw) led to arrests and persecution.
Scripture Focus "And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." Genesis 12:2-3
Scripture Prayer Pray for many leaders in today’s people group to seek and find God’s blessings, which He intended to give to them since the beginning of time.
Prayer Focus Pray they may be able to understand the gospel and respond to Christ.
Pray for the Lord to provide for their physical and spiritual needs as a testimony of his power and love.
Pray that the Hmong Dlex Nchab will have a spiritual hunger that will open their hearts to the King of kings.
Pray for an unstoppable movement to Christ among them.
Pray against the persecution of local evangelists.
