Kudur in Sudan

The Kudur group lives in nine rural villages, farming and raising livestock in the remote Nuba Mountains in the state of South Kordofan, Sudan. They are also called Fanda. They cultivate sorghum and corn for a living. The Kudur are Muslim; they follow the teachings of the Koran. Their primary language is Sudanese Arabic. The Kudur lack schools and health care facilities.

Ministry Obstacles
The Kudur are Muslim, following the teachings of the Koran. All they know is the Islamic religion and traditions. They most likely view Christians as those who oppose their people. How likely are the Kudur to give Jesus the chance to change their lives under those circumstances?

Scripture Focus
"And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!"  Revelation 5:13

Scripture Prayer
May God’s praises ring out forever among this people group!

Prayer Focus
Pray for the Holy Spirit to move mightily among the Kudur. Pray for compassionate workers to serve among them. Pray that the Kudur will soon come to believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ and disciple others in his teachings. Pray for Kudur elders and family leaders to have dreams and visions of the risen Savior and to share these with their people.
