Korama unspecified in India
The Korama do not allow cross-cousin and uncle-niece marriages as other communities do. They live in Bangalore and other places in Karnataka. They speak Tamil and Kannada. In addition to fortune telling, the Korama engage in basket-weaving, bamboo work, mat-weaving, and tattooing. Some work as wage laborers. But others are entering professional occupations and doing well. Approximately one-third of these individuals reside in urban areas. Boys are educated, and girls to a lesser degree.
Ministry Obstacles The literacy level is low, so the gospel needs to be given in oral, visual, or auditory form.
Scripture Focus "And he said to them, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." Luke 10:2
Scripture Prayer Pray for an abundance of Holy Spirit-led workers to disciple this people group.
Prayer Focus Pray for the Korama to experience the abundant life offered only by Jesus Christ.
Pray that Indian believers will help lead Korama into a church planting movement.
Pray for spiritual openness that will lead many to put their faith in Christ.
Pray for faithful workers and intercessors.
Pray for an interest in literacy and classes taught by Christ followers.
Pray for many new church plants among them.
