Northern Kurd in Türkiye (Turkey)
kerd

The Kurds are one of the largest people group in the world without their own homeland. They are spread across the towering mountains and barren plains of Turkey, Iran, Syria, and Iraq. This oil-rich area is known as Kurdistan. Kurmanji-speaking Kurds are a smaller subset of those who speak other Kurdish dialects. Most Kurds live in the most rugged part of Kurdistan, along the Turkey-Iran border.

Ministry Obstacles
The areas where Kurds are located are largely closed to evangelism, and Christians face persecution. However, there are many Christian materials available in the Kurmanji language.

Scripture Focus
"Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause."  Isaiah 1:16-17

Scripture Prayer
Pray for this people group to surrender unconditionally to the Lord of lords.

Prayer Focus
Pray that God would create a hunger for the Bible in the hearts of the Kurds. Ask God to raise up Kurdish disciples who will make more disciples. Pray for the Lord to send loving and dedicated ambassadors for Christ to the Kurdish people. Ask God to use the small number of Kurdish Christians to disciple others, who in turn will make disciples of even more Kurds. Ask the Lord to send dreams of the risen and victorious Christ to Kurdish leaders.
