Rajput (Hindu traditions) in India
RAHJ-put

Despite loss of land, property rights and titles, the Rajputs have kept alive their proud history of conquest, bravery and military might. The name Rajput is derived from the Sanskrit word rajputra, meaning "son of a ruler." As a class of nobility, Rajput clans emerged as a dominant landowning community in northern and western India in the colonial period. Rajputs generally have lower caste members farm their land. Because many lost their land after 1947, some Rajputs have become shop owners or common laborers. Rajputs encourage their sons and daughters to obtain graduate degrees and enter careers like medicine, public administration, computer science, finance, and engineering.

Ministry Obstacles
Rajputs need the humility to recognize their need for a savior. Fear that Christianity aims to turn individuals from their communities and traditions keeps them from considering the claims of Christ.

Scripture Focus
"And Jesus said to him, What do you want me to do for you? And the blind man said to him, Rabbi, let me recover my sight."  Mark 10:51

Scripture Prayer
Pray for the Lord to heal the spiritual blindness of today’s people group. Pray that these people see and recognize Jesus for who He truly is, the Light and Savior of the world.

Prayer Focus
Pray that a strong movement to Jesus would bring whole Rajput families and communities into a rich experience of God's blessings. Pray for the Rajput community to increasingly grow in awareness of Jesus and their need for Him. Pray the Lord will give Rajputs a spiritual hunger that He alone will satisfy. Pray that the Rajputs will see the value of becoming part of God's royal family. Pray for a Holy Spirit-led humility for all Rajput communities to fall at the feet of the King of kings.
