Romanian Jewish in Israel
roh-MAY-nee-un JOO-ish

In April 2019, the Jewish Community of Husi, Romania witnessed a tragic scene. Their cemetery had been broken into by vandals that smashed and toppled 73 gravestones of their families. Sadly, this disturbing action was not a surprise to them. Anti-Semitism was continuing to grow in Romania, and many were afraid to let people know they were Jewish. Romania's Jewish population has plummeted from 800,000 before WWII to a tiny remnant. Most of these people have permanently migrated to Israel.

Ministry Obstacles
Their painful past and the increase in anti-Semitic actions at the hands of false Christians have caused many Romanian Jews to be guarded against “Christians.”

Scripture Focus
"Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."  Isaiah 55:7

Scripture Prayer
Pray for true and lasting repentance to come to this people group.

Prayer Focus
Pray that God would open the eyes and hearts of Romanian Jewish, so they will have a full revelation of his saving glory in Jesus. Pray that this revelation would result in their forming their own movement toward Christ. Pray for Christians to reach out to Romanian Jews in friendship and love.
