Ao Biao in China

Researchers have noted that Ao Biao believe in a "great flood" that destroyed the earth long ago. Their legend states in part: "The flood has drowned all the people in the world…" The Ao Biao are generally a mountain-dwelling people living in parts of southeast China. They share a root language and a belief system of a larger group known as the Yao. They claim to be original inhabitants of the mountains, after having migrated from other southwestern parts of China. As land owners, they possess some of the area's best land and live in brick and wood homes around river areas.

Ministry Obstacles
This people group has few believers. Because of their more isolated dwelling, they'll need outsiders coming to their areas with the gospel. There are few gospel materials available to them in their language.

Pray that believers in this people group become passionate in their zeal for the true God and His Son.

Prayer Focus
Pray that believers with good with storytelling skills who know Bible-origin stories like Noah's flood that destroyed the earth, will find a way to reach them. Pray for believers who know how to use similarities through the Bible to open them to forming deep-rooted local house churches to reach their own people. Pray for the Holy Spirit to open their hearts to God's truth.
