Jews began coming to Turkey during medieval times, many escaping persecution from countries like Spain. At the time, the Ottoman Empire ruled what would become Turkey. Although it was a Muslim empire, Jews were not persecuted, but they had to pay a tax. Today, there have been incidents of anti-semitic behavior in Turkey driving Jewish to move to Israel. Israel is a modern, first world country. It has more museums per capita than any other country in the world and some of the best healthcare. Most kids are required to go to school 6 days a week. Israelis have a government with an elected parliament and a prime minister, who holds the most power.
Ministry Obstacles
History has proven that Christians as well as Muslims are not trusted by the Turkish Jewish community. It will be difficult for Christians to be ambassadors for Christ because of past grievances.
