Kumberaha in Indonesia

Kumbe means "come," and waha means "year." All of the adults speak Kumberaha, while only 40% of the children do. About 80% of the people are farmers, and about 20% are fishermen. Others work in the mines. The Kumberaha grow cloves, cocoa beans, coconuts, cassava, peppers, and red rice, which is very popular for its health benefits. They have only one police department for their many villages, but there is very little crime. They have 20 men who walk around the village every night for security purposes.

Ministry Obstacles
The Kumberahas are Muslim, and there are probably no Christ followers among them. They will need to hear of Christ's glory from an outsider, whom they are less likely to trust than someone in their own community.

Scripture Focus
"Yet even now, declares the LORD, return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning."  Joel 2:12

Scripture Prayer
Pray that this people group turns to the Lord and repents of their sins.

Prayer Focus
Pray for God to raise up and send loving workers. Pray for a high school staffed by well-trained teachers. Pray for a worker to open a library in the village. Pray for a movement to Christ to flourish among them. Pray for God to give them an abundant crop this year as a testimony of his goodness and power.
